Welcome to Vintage Red Line Cars
Although Hot Wheels are still being produced today, the cars that are of particular interest to collectors are the ones produced from 1968 to 1977. These are the red Line cars appropriately named because of the red sidewall stripe on the tires.
A highly collected subset of the red line cars are the Spectraflame cars which were the Hot Wheels produced from 1968 - 1972. They were called spectraflame because of the powerful candy like colors. If you would like more information about spectraflame it is available HERE.
We know you will enjoy looking at all of the wonderful Hot Wheels cars on this site and maybe you'll even find that illusive Red Line that is missing from your collection. We're quite sure after looking at this great selection that if you're not already a Red Line car collector you will be soon.
Note: The date on the bottom of the Hot Wheels car is NOT its production date. That date is the date the model was patented or copyrighted. This makes it a little difficult sometimes to locate the car you want to find. For example:
If you were looking for the Classic Cord which was issued in 1971. You may have to look at the 1970 and 1971 categories because it will sometimes be listed by the date on the bottom of the car and sometimes by its actual production year.
